Dental Bonding

Not every cosmetic concern requires crowns or veneers. Sometimes small refinements make a meaningful difference. Dental bonding is a minimally invasive way to repair chips, restore worn edges, and improve tooth shape while preserving healthy structure. We at Guthrie Dental ensure it supports your bite, function, and long-term dental health.

What Is Dental Bonding?

Dental bonding uses a tooth-colored composite material that is carefully shaped and polished to blend naturally with your surrounding teeth.

Because bonding is conservative, it often requires little to no removal of healthy enamel. In many cases, it can be completed in a single visit.

When Is Bonding the Right Choice?

Bonding is ideal for patients seeking subtle improvements without aggressive treatment. We often recommend it for adults noticing years of wear, grinding, or bite changes. It can also stabilize worn teeth and prevent more extensive work later. Proper diagnosis ensures treatment supports your long-term health and function.

I’m a new patient at Guthrie Dental. From my first phone call I felt like I had been a patient for years. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, making the entire experience amazing. Victoria was my hygienist, she explained everything in great detail on my initial visit to make sure I knew what was happening every step of the way. I’d highly recommend Guthrie Dental!

Our Treatment Process

Dental bonding is a relatively quick procedure, often completed in 30–60 minutes per tooth, depending on the number treated. We prepare, carefully shape the composite, and polish for a natural, seamless result.

  • Consultation

Dr. Guthrie will assess the condition of your teeth and discuss the desired outcome with you.

  • Tooth Preparation

Minimal preparation is required. The tooth surface is gently roughened, and a conditioning liquid is applied to aid bonding.

  • Bonding Application

The resin, matched to the color of your teeth, is applied, molded, and smoothed to the desired shape.

  • Curing

A special light is used to harden the material, bonding it to the tooth.

  • Refinement

Dr. Guthrie will trim, shape, and polish the bonded material to match the sheen of the rest of the tooth surface.

What Makes Our Bonding Different

Many practices offer bonding as a quick cosmetic fix. We take a more intentional approach. Through advanced training and modern materials, we sculpt composite for natural contours, proper bite integration, and durability. We work carefully, explain each step, and deliver detailed, unhurried care you can trust.
