About Guthrie Dental
At Guthrie Dental, dentistry is personal. We build lasting relationships by providing thoughtful care, honest guidance, and the time every patient deserves. Serving Manheim and nearby communities, our focus is comprehensive dentistry designed for long-term health—not hurried appointments or one-size-fits-all treatment.
Philosophy of Care
We believe the best dentistry comes from taking the time to do things carefully and thoughtfully. Rather than rushing patients through appointments, we focus on understanding each person’s goals, concerns, and lifelong dental health.

This approach allows us to recommend treatments that deliver lasting results rather than quick fixes.
Our Practitioners

Tyler Guthrie, DDS
Dr. Guthrie is passionate about delivering personalized, relationship-based dental care rooted in trust and service. Originally from southern West Virginia, he was raised by his grandfather, Larry, who instilled in him the values of hard work, humility, and taking care of others.
He attended Sissonville High School, where he played soccer, before earning his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University. He went on to complete a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University and later returned to West Virginia University to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During dental school, he met his wife, Dr. Renee Guthrie.
Today, Dr. Guthrie and his wife call Lancaster County home, where they live with their two golden retrievers and their three cats.
Beyond the practice, Dr. Guthrie is committed to serving the community through volunteer and pro-bono dentistry at Water Street Mission, helping provide care to individuals who may not otherwise have access to it. He believes dentistry is not just about treating teeth, but about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
In his free time, Dr. Guthrie enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors, hunting and training with his bird dog Moose, and cheering on the Hershey Bears.
Dental Expertise & Philosophy
Dr. Guthrie is deeply committed to clinical excellence and lifelong learning. While the state requirement for continuing education is approximately 15 hours per year, he routinely completes over 100 hours annually to stay at the forefront of modern, evidence-based dentistry.
He is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
His approach to dentistry is centered on individualized care—taking the time to understand each patient’s goals, needs, and overall health to deliver treatment that is both thoughtful and lasting.

Care That’s Personalized to You
Every smile is different, which is why we don’t subscribe to standardized treatment. Whether you need preventive, restorative, cosmetic, or emergency care, we take time to understand your needs and explain your options, helping you maintain health, function, and confidence in your smile.
Healthy Smiles for the Long Run
Our goal isn’t just to fix problems when they arise—it’s to help patients prevent them whenever possible. Through preventive care, thoughtful treatment planning, and patient education, we focus on solutions that protect oral health for years to come.
After relocating to the area about 2 years ago, I was dragging my feet with getting established at a new dentist. Breaking a filling finally twisted my arm into doing so and I’m so glad I chose Guthrie. Not only were they able to get me in very quickly, but the entire staff was so friendly and personable as well. The hygienist I saw was super nice and easy to talk to, and Dr. Guthrie was amazing and did a great job of explaining everything to me along the way. Overall, everyone really makes you feel welcome and at ease at this practice. I’m very grateful to have found this place and am looking forward to continuing my care here.
Committed to Continuing Education
Dentistry is constantly evolving, and patients deserve care that reflects the latest advancements. Through ongoing continuing education and advanced training, our doctors stay current with modern techniques and technology, allowing us to deliver treatment that’s more precise, more comfortable, and designed for optimal outcomes.
Dentistry Worth Slowing Down For
Great dental care starts with patients feeling comfortable, informed, and respected. Our team works to make every visit welcoming and clear. We’re honored to care for generations of families throughout our community—because dentistry isn’t just about teeth. It’s about caring for people well, at every stage of life.
